Polka Dot Mani {Fashion}

polka dots (especially itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka dots) are cute, fun and perfect for the sun. now that spring is here and the sun has finally started shining again, i thought it was time for a sunny mani.

i have been obsessed with polka dotting lately because the technique is so simple! just place a small dot of polish on some paper, dip your toothpick in, and get polka-dotting. finishing with a top coat makes polish and polka dots smooth, so make sure you don't forget that step.

Spring Fashion

spring is here and so is color! now is the time to ditch the grays and blacks of winter and introduce the pinks, greens, and blues of spring.
i put together a couple ensembles that you will probably see me prancing around in for the upcoming months. note that several items are from my personal favorite, Target. Target is the store for seasonal "trend" items that you are not interested in investing a lot of money on. every summer i stock up on their five dollar tees and grab a few cardigans for versatility. this year they have AMAZING colored denim, (colors identical to the ones at Nordstrom) for a great price. save your money and spend it on items that you will wear over & over, like a nice pair of sandals or a gorgeous set of earrings.

here are my picks for spring. if anything, i hope it will inspire you to add a few pops of color in your spring wardrobe.

St. Patty's Day nails! {fashion}

when i think about St. Patrick's Day i see four leaf clovers, leprechauns, and rainbows with pots of gold. how about a nail tutorial that embraces St. Patrick's Day and all its green glory?

i present, the rainbow accent nail:
green nails with the rainbow accent, is that luck 'o the Irish or what? to create your own rainbow accent nail you will need:

arrange your polish in rainbow order. beginning with your red (or pink in my case) apply a small strip. follow with each color of the rainbow until you have painted entire nail:

finish by painting the remaining nails your shade of green. enjoy your rainbow accent!

Spornette brush giveaway! {fashion}

Spornette brushes have become my go-to hairbrushes. you might be thinking "big deal, it's just a hairbrush". i'll admit, i felt the same way until i started using my new brushes. i was amazed to see that not only did my hair style better, it was sleeker, smoother, had shine, and flat ironing or curling wasn't a must (previous due to the frizz from blowdrying). Spornette brushes give you that feel of having gone to the salon, without having to go to the salon. the best part is, their price point is affordable!

here is a video on how to volumize your hair. i'm using my favorite teasing brush, the Little Wonder by Spornette:

because i love these brushes i want to share them with you! one lucky reader can get their hands on the Farenheit 464 by Spornette. this brush is perfect for styling, doesn't allow bacteria, and the boar bristles also work well for backcombing.
