Yesterday, I was reading a friend's blog who I miss a LOT! We haven't seen them in over a year and in reality, wish we could see them all of the time. (I'm sure many of you have friends just like this) I was trying to think of something fun I could send them and this idea popped up in my head. Next week, I am going to dedicate a whole week to this idea..I'm calling it the yellow box. We all know yellow is the color of friendship, but to be honest, it is just a HAPPY color.
Do you have a friend that could use a little cheer? Maybe one you haven't seen in awhile and you could totally surprise them? I would LOVE it if you will come and play along with me as I get my box ready to send off.
I am collecting yellow finds on store trips..and next week, I will show a few things to make to add into your box..including some fun free downloads and sewing projects.
Today, I am going to show you a little pack of cards that I am putting together for the box (as I know my friend is a total crafty girl herself, and will definitely LOVE them!):
I took these templates:
and simply embellished.
First, for the "You are Amazing" card, I loved this idea of white on white found in this project at eighteen25, so I thought I'd do a yellow on yellow, simply cutting out the letters and placing a the textured side of the paper behind the cut out..and LOVE the finished result:
Next, for the "miss you" card, I cut out the shape and took a square of paper that fit behind it...ruffled some paper and sewed it on to the square..then sewed the square on to the card. I love the little stitching detail around the shape and the ruffles coming through. SO fun:
Lastly, I simply stitched over "sweet" on the "You are too Sweet" card and added a little ribbon embellishment to finish off this card!
These are just some quick up-do's with some simple template cards. I am doing another round with fabric and yet another with a black sharpie marker! Can't wait to show you the results. All wrapped up, these will make a sweet little addition to my yellow box.
DO you want to make some too?
Simply download the free templates here. These are each formatted for an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper..giving you two cards per sheet. Remember FREE downloads are for Kiki Creates followers only (takes just a second over on the sidebar)..I LOVE being able to give out free things..and this is just the simple thing I ask in return!
Thanks for stopping by..and I can't wait to see you next week for Yellow Box week. Now go find some yellow goodies!:)
