Simple Christmas Decorating

One of my favorite things during each holiday season is to decorate.. Each holiday has such a unique and fun spirit about it. This year for Christmas, because I knew I would be delivering my fourth baby in the first week of December, I opted to keep things simple and fresh. Many times I go overboard with Christmas, but this year simple and minimal were definitely my friends.:) I love how it has reminded my children what fun and excitement comes with Christmas, but more importantly, we are reminded of the true meaning of the reason we celebrate.

As I started decorating, I was inspired by so many things, but considering I ALWAYS start with my Christmas tree, I was particularly inspired by these trees this year:
I loved the simplicity and color that these trees bring:

These trees are simple in material and look so fun to make!

And for a fun grouping of paper trees that would be simple (and cheap) to make, check these out:

Although very different, each of these trees made me so happy to look at and definitely brought a new vision for decorating this crazy busy holiday season! I think I will take my simple and minimal approach a little more often as I enter different holidays from now on as it has brought a bit more joy, less worry and an overall remembrance of what and why we are celebrating!
