So instead of a full on tutorial..because there ARE 4 headbands..I'd thought I would instead give you some tips and tricks to making these headbands. Remember you can still win one of these by going over to BLUSHING BASICS!
We will start out with this Braided Silver Sequined Headband.
To make this..or something similar..I just took 3 pieces of a silver material and attached the sequins (these are the already threaded sequins) to the middle of them. I glued them all together and braided them, always keeping the sequins showing. Then I attached them to a headband that I wrapped in another piece of the silver material.
I love how this one turned out. It is a little thick, but it looks amazing in curly or slightly puffed hair. LOVE IT!
This purple flower headband was really fun to make. To make a fabric flower like this..check out this tutorial..one of the best I have seen. I finished by adding feathers (love how they sort of curl downward) and added in some netting at the end!
I've noticed for these heavier pieces it is really important to add them to a heavy duty headband.
Next we will talk about the white banded headband. I used the same concept for these rolled flowers, but I didn't overlap the material as much and you can see for yourself how different the flower looks. I also used a different material and that made a huge difference! I added this to an elastic headband. It is SO cute on..seriously love it. It adds a bit of drama to your outfit, but in a nice way!
The netting added just a bit more texture to this piece. I love working with netting..it is pretty forgiving to work with and super cheap too!
Lastly I will tell you about the black feathered headband. I LOVE how this turned out..but it is nearly impossible to take a good picture of it. I would love to show you the ruffly goodness that oozes from this piece, but you may just have to take my word for it! This was my first time working with feathers and they were so fun. For this headband I simply started about 2/3 of the way into the headband and started gluing feathers down adding layer upon layer. This is a super simple headband to make and reproduce!
I don't know about you, but I love to wear headbands..and it really was a blast making these up! If you have questions, leave me a comment...and if not, I hope this little post has been helpful! These really are all fairly simple to make...something perfect for a last minute Christmas gift!
