A party fit for a princess!

Did you know that my baby Maxwell was born on his sister's birthday?  As my due date approached, I kept telling my body that it could go into labor and have the baby the day before her birthday, the day after the birthday, but NOT ON her birthday. Waking up to your water breaking at 5:30 AM ON her birthday meant that all that talking just didn't work!:)  LUCKILY, I had this funny feeling a few weeks before to throw her friend party the day before, so I did just that. Although I didn't get done ALL I had planned for it (then again, I was 39 weeks and 6 days pregnant), it went so great and Maizie had the best time at her little "Tea Party".  Here are a few of the details:

The invite.  I wanted to throw her a tea party since she LOVED playing tea time with her little animals in her room...thus the cute little tea pot:

Which opened up to show the Tea Bag invitation.

I knew my daughter loved these because she carried one around for 2 weeks...they really did turn out so cute.

We don't go all out crazy for birthday parties, but we always decorate the night before so the birthday kid comes down to a "party". She was more than happy.  Then again, I could have just placed one balloon down there and she would have been tickled.:)

She ADORES Hello Kitty, so we played "Pin the bow on Hello Kitty"..it was a huge hit!..and because I could design these up myself..SO CHEAP!
And of course, for playing the game, each of the kids got to take home Hello Kitty bows (for the girls) and a bow tie for our lone boy!

The next activity we did was a riot! She has her "songs" she loves to sing and dance to, so I found each of them on Itunes...found a kid version of them and made everyone a Music Mix CD to take home after they danced their socks off!

The cake was seriously delicious. (I literally frosted the entire thing in less than 5 minutes)..love that.

And we also had cupcakes, which the kids LOVED.

Altogether it was a perfectly fun and easy party to put together and see through. Maizie was in heaven being "3" and it really made me feel better while I was in labor the next day to know she had at least had a party.
