a pet shop playhouse


Well, I finished it.  I always love a good before and after picture so here it is:

It really was so fun to work on and will certainly get more love now than it has in a long time!

The first level has a secret garden..something I always dreamed of having growing up.


Second level is the neighborhood. All of the drawing is done with sharpie marker..then painted..then sharpie over again.


Last level is the home suite...with mirrors, flowers, a sofa..and of course..chevron.:)


The animals seem to feel at home.


The neighborhood seems like a friendly place.


And the pig was instantly drawn to the sunburst mirror.


Best part about the project? The animals now have a place to sleep at night..(not on the floor, like they have for awhile)

and of course my daughter couldn't be more excited for the prospect of playing with it...that is after my 7 year old SON takes his turn. Wow, who knew it would be such a crowd pleaser.:)

    Wow that looks awesome! i love that it's made from the shelf so you have the nice built in storage in the drawers. Storage for toys is always nice

    My 4 year old son is obsessed with LPS! Between our own purchases and the hand-me-downs from friends, he has a rather large collection. This is an awesome idea! I'm going to have to keep my eye out for something similar so I can make a play house for his pets!

    Love it, Kiki! Kylie will be jealous! She'd love to come play with it, though. She actually got more pets for her bday this morning. ;) The house is awesome. Good work again! p.s. thanks for the pan. ;)

    Love this! Our Little Pet shop creatures and accessories do not have a "home", and thus get lost and constantly stepped on. What a great idea! Saw you at TT&J.

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this! We have a lot of littlest pet shop toys too, and I've actually been looking for a little bookshelf to make into a house! But I LOVE that yours has drawers on it! Thanks for the post, and I have a few more ideas now!!! I'm also toying w/using a bookshelf for a Barbie/doll house when my daughter gets older!
