Now that school is out, I have been planning on what my family will do to spend our days productively. One thing that I have always wanted to do is to have time set aside everyday for writing, reading and math, especially for my children who just finished school for the year. Today we started on our adventure and it was a great success! To make a simple journal for my children to write in, I decided to quickly put some books together.
I decided to only use things I had around the house and used just a few items to make them. I used brown paper sack lunch bags, 10 pieces of computer paper cut in half length wise..so by cutting one group, you will have enough for 2 journals. Just simply put the bag on the outside, put paper down (you will have to trim 1/2 inch off the paper) and sew it together. For ease, I sewed some ribbon on the bag portion so I have something to hang it up with. Then I let the kids decorate their own and we were writing all within 1/2 an hour!
