The US Map pillow tutorial

This pillow is so fun to make..and honestly from start to finish took under 30 minutes to put together!

I started by cutting two rectangular pieces of felt about 8 1/2"x 12". Know that you can use any kind of fabric for this! Next I cut out the US in a coordinating color of felt (using template above).
Pin the United States shape onto whatever the front of your pillow is.

Sew around the edges and take pins out.
Pin the right sides of your fabric together. I only pinned the corners to keep them in place..pin as much or as little as you'd like!  Leave a space to insert the stuffing.

Cut off the tips of the corners. This is to reduce the bulk when you flip the pillow right side out..so you have a pointy corner!
Flip it right side out. Stuff and stitch shut! YOU ARE DONE!

Obviously, if I did not already have this pillow, I would have sewn my heart on the same time that I sewed the United States on. Do you see how cute it looks..
in GEORGIA, OHIO:
CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON?

This pillow is not finished quite yet..and that is because I am giving it to one of you!
All I need to know is your name, your email and where you want me to put the heart.  Of course, as with all of my giveaways it is for followers of Kiki Creates only (but that only takes a second to do!) Giveaway ends Monday, March 21st at 9 pm PST.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ooo! I love this and I hope I win! However, where to put the heart....hmmm. We are in the military and are currently in CA, but will soon be in OH (in 4 months), then will only be there for 18 months, then it's likely on to VA. BUT we are both from AZ, so that would be likely what we would choose since we consider ourselves "Arizonans".

I guess it would be fun to use your pattern and make a new pillow every time we move! We could have a collection of pillows with the hearts in different places OR one pillow and attach different colored hearts when we move as sort of a record all in one place.

Thanks for the ideas!
